I got my start like many horse crazy kids, begging and pleading with my parents for riding lessons. Little did they know that  25 years later I would still be just as horse crazy as I was at 5. Growing up in Chicago, I experienced a lot of different disciplines, english, western, hunters, jumpers and eventually found eventing through Pony Club.  I had one special partner, Seventh Step, that I competed through the one star level with hopes to go to Young Riders. Unfortunately a few short weeks before the trip, Griffin suffered a severe pasture accident ending our partnership. Shortly after a special thoroughbred came into my life, Chance of Flurries. I was heading into my senior year of high school and starting "Murphy" under the watchful eye of Matt Trynoski, I was able to learn about natural horsemanship and all about starting a young horse. which has proved invaluable as a base for my program. After graduation, I moved to Columbia, South Carolina &  attended the University of South Carolina. I learned very early on how important it was to balance class with competitions and the daily training requirements. Murphy and I successfully competed up through the CCI** level before I finished up my degree in Finance and Marketing with a minor in Journalism.  While attending College, I started Burke Equestrian and found my love for teaching. I had several students in the area, and also started selling horses for clients back in the Midwest. During this time, I spent each spring galloping race horses while gave me a invaluable opportunity to understand the young thoroughbred. In 2011, I moved to Charlottesville to work and train with the Beshear family. I worked for Dr. Jeff Beshear as a vet assistant, and helped Emily Beshear with her own horses and students. I learned so much duing my time with them including the importance of veterinary care and training & conditioning FEI level horses. 

 I have always found it extremely important to surround yourself with a supportive coach and trainer. I have spent a significant amount of time training  with top professionals including Lynn Symansky, John Holling, Bonnie Mosser, Matt Trynoski, Craig Thompson, Ralph Hill,  and Emily Beshear to further my equestrian knowledge. I have also had the opportunity to clinician with some of the best riders in the sport including Lucinda Green, Jim Graham, Phillip Dutton, Becky Holder, Missy Ransehousen, Allison Springer, Jan Bynn, Will Faudree, and many others. I feel the knowledge I have gained from all these fabulous riders, trainers, and coaches, have allowed me to base my program and training techniques on the fundamentals of horsemanship and top horse care. 

In 2012, I moved up to Washington, DC and starting teaching and training in Maryland and Virginia. I purchased a farm in 2016 and currently operate my program out of a small facility I call home in Mt. Airy, Maryland. I am currently bringing along my next group of young superstars and excited about what the future holds for them. ​
